As the founder of the Global Human Capital Journal, I would like to acknowledge the considerable assistance provided by Brian Connolly. Brian has strong technical knowledge of Serendipity as well as expertise in all manner of marketing and business strategy for on-line journals and blogs. I can truly say the GHCJ would be a shadow of its current quality without his help and unflagging encouragement.
Many people have asked about the artwork. All of it thus far comes from original photos that have been shot from my front windows, which overlook Lake Michigan. The lake and sky are an inspiring, ever-changing canvas. Much of the concept and inspiration came from The Weather Underground and its "wunder photos," which are contributed from people in all countries, topographies and weather—all the time. Looking at those photos makes it obvious that everyone is fascinated by sunrises, storms and nature, a powerful connection for people around the world.
To celebrate 2009, I am featuring Ralf Oesterwinter’s "On Fire" picture of our sun in Global Human Capital’s main pages (four different views). I found the picture on Weather Underground. He took it with 50D Canon Camera, 1000mm Celestron Field Telescope with extenders plus a Sun Filter. I encourage you to view more of his work here. Thanks, Ralf!
